Musical Education at the Montessori Bilingual School
Maria Montessori placed great value and importance in the musical education of children from a very young age. Children have an inborn capacity to appreciate music of all types along with an inclination to move, dance and produce music. Present in all cultures, music as a āuniversal languageā adds a sensory dimension to life which few other means can do: it also provides a unique way of expressing oneās feelings and understanding those of others.
In our school, besides singing, listening and movement with their own teachers, there is also one hour every week of musical education with an expert in the field.
